According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in May this year Turkey's monthly industrial production index increased by eight percent year on year, while the seasonal and calendar adjusted industrial production index declined by 0.3 percent compared to the previous month.
In May, the index for the manufacture of basic metals increased by 4.7 percent year on year and was up 1.7 percent over April, while the index for the manufacture of fabricated metal products rose by 12.7 percent year on year and was up by 2.4 percent compared to the previous month.
