According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜIK), in September
Turkey's monthly industrial
production index decreased by 8.6 percent year on year and was down 0.2 percent compared to August.
Among the various industrial sectors in
Turkey, the
production index in the mining sector in September this year decreased by 6.4 percent, while the index for the
manufacturing sector fell 9.3 percent, both compared with the same month of the previous year. The index for the electricity, gas and water sector, on the other hand, decreased by 4.1 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, the highest decrease in the
manufacturing index in August was realized in the manufacture of other transport equipment, marking a fall of 33.8 percent over the same month of the previous year, followed by the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products with a drop of 31 percent.
In September this year, the index for the manufacture of basic metals fell 11.28 percent year on year and was up 0.5 percent over August, while the index for the manufacture of fabricated metal products was down 16.4 percent year on year and increased by 3.3 percent compared to the previous month.
