Turkey’s IDC suspends production at its rolling mill

Turkish steelmaker Izmir Demir Celik Sanayi A.S. (IDC) has announced that it will suspend production at its rolling mill for three weeks due to maintenance works starting from today, May 9. The company also has said that it will suspend production also in its meltshop starting from May 16, for two weeks.
 
IDC has a meltshop with an annual production capacity of 1.32 million metric tons, equipped with a seven-strand continuous caster, capable of producing 140 x 140 mm x 12 m steel billets, while its rolling mill can produce 900,000 mt of rebar per year.
