On June 6, Turkish steelmaker Izmir Demir Celik Sanayi A.S. (IDC) announced that it has completed the maintenance of its rolling mill and has restarted production. The producer had suspended its production at its rolling mill on May 9.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, IDC last week recommissioned its meltshop after  production had been suspended for three weeks in order to allow maintenance to be carried out.

The annual production capacity of IDC's meltshop is 1.32 million metric tons. IDC has a seven-strand continuous caster capable of producing 140 x 140 mm x 12 m steel billets, while its rolling mill can produce 900,000 mt of rebar per year.
