Turkey’s IDC receives ‘Sustainable Reinforcing Steel’ certificate from UK CARES

Turkish rebar producer Izmir Demir Celik Sanayi A.S. (IDC) announced on April 14 that it has been granted a ‘Sustainable Reinforcing Steel' certificate by UK CARES (Certificating Authority for Reinforcing Steels), following an inspection on areas including CO emissions, waste management, effective usage of energy and resources, application of green technologies, compliance with laws, communication, social responsibility, occupational health and security.
 
The company stated that it is the first Turkish steelmaker to receive the certificate in question, which allows it to gain an advantage in supplying international companies in the field of sustainable construction
 
IDC also said that it already holds quality certificates from UK CARES.
