Turkey's HRC exports up 85 percent in 2013

In December last year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) exports increased by 13.81 percent year on year to 126,281 metric tons, while increasing by 30.91 percent compared to the previous month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These exports had a value of $72.28 million, increasing by 13.53 percent year on year and up by 30.52 percent compared to November.

On the other hand, in the whole of last year, Turkey's HRC export volume increased by 85.01 percent year on year to 1.33 million mt. The value of these exports totaled $782.68 million, increasing by 69.64 percent year on year.

Last year, Turkey's HRC exports to Italy rose by 132.40 percent, while the country's HRC exports to Portugal increased by a massive 654.40 percent and HRC exports to the US surged by 307.38 percent, all compared to 2012. Turkey's HRC exports to Spain in 2013 increased by 85.78 percent on year-on-year basis.
