According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in April this year Turkey's flat steel imports, including hot rolled, cold rolled, coated and narrow strip steel, rose by 1.5 percent compared to the previous month and were up 54.2 percent compared to April 2012, totaling 575,371 metric tons. The value of these imports amounted to $392 million, increasing by 3.7 percent over March and up 41.9 percent year on year.
In the first four months of the year, Turkey's flat steel imports amounted to 2.1 million metric tons, increasing 42.3 percent year on year.
