Turkey’s crude steel output rises by 8.1 percent in Jan-Feb

According to a statement released by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD), Turkish crude steel output in February this year decreased by 5.6 percent month on month and was up by 8.7 percent year on year to 3 million mt.  

In the given month, Turkey's crude steel output by electric arc furnaces rose by 11.1 percent, while production by integrated plants increased by 3.6 percent, both year on year.

In the first two months of this year, Turkish crude steel output rose by 8.1 percent 6.17 million mt, year on year. In the given period, Turkey's crude steel output by electric arc furnaces rose by 11.3 percent to 4.24 million mt, while production by integrated plants increased by 1.8 percent to 1.93 million mt, both year on year.

In the January-February period of this year, Turkey's billet output increased by 9.3 percent to 4.2 million metric tons, while its slab output rose by 5.6 percent to 1.97 million metric tons, both on year-on-year basis.
