Turkey’s crude steel output rises by 0.8 percent in January-October

According to a statement released by the Turkish Steel Producers’ Association, Turkish crude steel output in October this year, increased by 7.8 percent month on month and decreased by 4.3 percent year on year to 3.2 million mt.

In the given month, Turkey’s crude steel output by electric arc furnaces fell by 3.7 percent, while production by integrated plants decreased by 5.6 percent, both year on year.

In the January-October period of the current year, Turkish crude steel output rose by 0.8 percent to 31.3 million mt. In the given period, Turkey’s crude steel output by electric arc furnaces rose by 1.5 percent to 21.8 million mt, while production by integrated plants decreased by 0.9 percent to 9.5 million mt.

In the January-October period of this year, Turkey’s billet output decreased by 2.1 percent to 20.8 million mt, while its slab output rose by 7.1 percent to 10.5 million mt, both year-on-year basis.
