According to a statement released by the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers' Association (DCUD), in November this year Turkey's crude steel production rose by 12.8 percent year on year to 2.85 million mt, down 7.6 percent month on month after recording an all-time high in October. The reports says that the month on month decrease was dur to the uncertainity in the global markets.
On the other hand, in the first 11 months of 2011, Turkey's crude steel output amounted to 30.99 million mt, increasing by 17.6 percent as compared to the corresponding period of last year.
In the first 11 months of this year, Turkey's steel billet output moved up by 11.4 percent to 22.06 million mt, and its slab output climbed by 36.3 percent to 8.93 million mt, both on year-on-year basis. The share of steel billet in total crude steel production was 71.2 percent, while the share of slab was 28.8 percent.
