In September this year, Turkey's cold rolled coil (CRC) imports decreased by 4.8 percent month on month to 53,803 mt, down 28.4 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports was $31.93 million, decreasing by five percent compared to August and down 36 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in the first nine months of this year, Turkey's CRC imports amounted to 501,728 metric tons, down 21.2 percent year on year, while the revenue generated by these imports totaled $305.47 million, decreasing by 28 percent compared to same period of 2018.
In the January- September period, Russia ranked first among Turkey's CRC import sources, supplying 254,908 mt, down 13.23 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the given period, Turkey's CRC imports from Romania totaled 53,925 mt.
