In December last year, Turkey's cold rolled coil (CRC) imports increased by 120.1 percent month on month to 56,873 mt, up 78.2 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports was $29.8 million, increasing by 95.5 percent compared to December and down 49.2 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in 2019, Turkey's CRC imports amounted to 639,125 metric tons, down 17.1 percent year on year, while the revenue generated by these imports totalled $383.28 million, decreasing by 25.6 percent compared to 2018.
In 2019, Russia ranked first among Turkey's CRC import sources, supplying 326,799 mt, down 13.42 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the given period, Turkey's CRC imports from Belgium totaled 65,533 mt.
