Turkey’s CR coil and sheet imports up 5.7 percent in Nov over Oct

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in November 2011 Turkey's cold rolled (CR) coil and sheet imports rose 5.7 percent compared to the previous month, increasing to 70,578 metric tons. The value of these imports amounted to $61.1 million, up 2.1 percent compared to October.

In November, Turkey's cold rolled coil and sheet imports from Russia amounted to 25,237 metric tons, increasing by 86.5 percent compared to the previous month and accounting for approximately 35.76 percent of the country's total cold rolled coil and sheet imports. Turkey's second biggest source of cold rolled coil and sheet imports in November was Belgium with 14,439 metric tons, decreasing by 22.8 percent month on month.

Meanwhile, in the first 11 months of 2011, Turkey's cold rolled coil and sheet imports amounted to 587,460 metric tons, decreasing 5.75 percent compared to the same period of 2010. Imports from Russia amounted to 217,687 metric tons, decreasing by 14.8 percent year on year.
