Turkish steelmaker Colakoglu Metalurji has started production at its new hot strip mill located in Dilovasi, Kocaeli, northwest Turkey.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, the company had announced that, following market research conducted since January this year, Colakoglu began to accept orders for production at the facility.

With an annual production capacity of three million metric tons, Colakoglu's new hot strip mill can produce steel sheets within a thickness range of 1.2-25 mm and 800-1,650 mm in width.

Founded in 1945, Colakoglu currently produces billets, slabs, blooms, rebars and hot rolled coil.
