Turkey's automotive sales up 57.1 percent in March from February

In March this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey decreased by 11 percent year on year and were up by 57.1 percent month on month to 73,802 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey decreased by 13.1 percent year on year and were up by 60.4 percent month on month to 55,616 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles decreased by 4.1 percent year on year and were up by 47.7 percent month on month to 18,186 units.
 
Meanwhile, in the January-March period of this year domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw a decrease of 7.4 percent year on year, amounting to 156,090 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country decreased by 9.3 percent to 115,963 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles fell by 1.1 percent to 40,127 units, both on year-on-year basis.
