According to the decision of Turkey's Council of Ministers published in the country's Official Gazette dated Saturday, October 18, the Turkish import duty rates on wire rod and steel bars have been increased. As a result, the import duty on boron-added wire rod stands at 40 percent compared to three percent announced on December 31 and the import duty on rebar and steel bars has increased to 30 percent from 15 percent.
The products subject to amended import duties currently fall under the Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers 7227.90.10.00.00, 7214.20, 7214.30 and 7214.99.
