Turkey is on the watch for rebar in EU definitive measures

Turkey is considering to appeal to WTO in case rebar is included in the EU definitive safeguard measures. Currently EU definitive safeguard measures cover seven products, many of which are not exported by Turkey. Turkey is major exporter of rebar into the EU. Therefore being satisfied with the current list of products under the definitive safeguard measures, it seems uncomfortable that the investigation is extended for the other 3 products including rebar, which means an ongoing possibility of inclusion in the safeguard measures. The effort EU made not to bring unfavorable conditions to the market is appreciated however; Turkey might appeal to WTO in case this product is included in the definitive measures.
