Tokyo Steel hikes prices of flat products

According to recent news in the market, Japanese steel producer Tokyo Steel will increase hot rolled coil prices by Yen 4'000 ($36.5) effective for September orders. With this increase, price of hot rolled coils will reach Yen 70'000 ($639) per ton. Prices of long products except for wire rod have not been increased. The hike in the price of wire rod has been announced as Yen 2'000 ($18) per ton. Moreover, sales price of pickling coil has been increased by Yen 4'000 to Yen 76'000 ($693) per ton, hot dip galvanized steel to Yen 83'000 ($757) and checkered plate to Yen 73'000 ($666) per ton effective for September orders.
