The Czech Republic prepares safeguards on tubes

Following the conclusion of an investigation proving that imports into the Czech Republic create injury on the domestic industry, the government announced its plans to implement safeguards on five types of welded tubes and pipes. The safeguards will be implemented from March 1, 2003 and remain valid until December 31, 2004. The proposed measures between 13.5% and 22.4% will be applied on imports exceeding the volumes of the last three year average.
