G Steel, one of the major flat steel producers in Thailand, has said that it has plans to expand its product range and add high value-added products used in the pipeline gas business.

At the moment, the company has a production capacity of 1.8 million mt per year and produces mainly commercial hot rolled coil (HRC). Its monthly output is about 110,000 mt, SteelOrbis has learned, of which it sells more than 50 percent locally. "The high value-added products will represent 10 percent of total capacity next year, while there will be an increase of THB 2,000/mt ($65.8/mt) in the margins of all product types," the company stated.
