Tenaris concludes supply of pipes to pipeline in Argentina

Javier Martinex Alvares, president of the Argentine steel and piping producer Tenaris, has announced the order of the supply of steel pipes for the construction of the Nestor Kirchner gas pipeline, linking the gas fields of Vaca Muerta, in the south of the country, to the city of Buenos Ayres, has been completed.

According to Alvares, the supply of 56,700 pipes in six months required a combined work of Tenaris with plates producer in Brazil, resulting in a total of 283,500 mt of steel plates converted in seamed steel pipes in the Tenaris plant of Valentin Alsina, located in the region of Buenos Ayres, which operated at full capacity during the period.

According to the local press, 89 percent of the pipes are of 36 inches in diameter, 12 meters in length each and destined to transport 40 million cubic meters of gas per day once the project is completed.
