Tata Steel ups saleable steel output

Indian steelmaker Tata Steel on Tuesday reported a 10 percent year-on-year rise in production of saleable steel for the first half of the current fiscal year. Tata Steel said it produced 2.37 million metric tons of saleable steel during the period in question. The company's hot metal production increased 4 percent year on year to 2.64 million metric tons in the first half, while crude steel production rose 5 percent year on year to 2.46 million metric tons.
