The global steel giant Tata Steel announced that it will supply about 50,000 mt of rail measuring 108 meters in length for the new Brittany-Loire Valley rail line, which will connect the cities of Le Mans and Rennes in France, marking the second high speed rail order for Tata Steel.

According to the company's statement, the steel will be manufactured in Scunthorpe, UK, before being rolled into rail at Tata Steel's mill in Hayange, north-east France, for delivery beginning in 2015. The order value is likely to be around €50 million.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, in July this year, Tata Steel announced a €12 million investment in order to produce longer wear-resistant rails at its Hayange rail mill.
