Tata Steel not looking for partners in Europe

Indian steelmaker Tata Steel’s managing director and CEO TV Narendran has said that, while the company is receiving interest for its European business, it is not looking for a partner in the EU.

The Tata Steel managing direction and CEO went on to say that, instead, they are focusing on making their European business more profitable and on reducing its dependence on Tata Steel India

In June this year, the European Commission prohibited the creation of a joint venture by Tata Steel and ThyssenKrupp under EU Merger Regulation on the grounds that the merger would have reduced competition and increased prices for different types of steel.
