On August 29, Hebei Province-based Tangshan Steel slashed its prices for September. The details are as follows:
1. Wire rod prices have decreased by RMB 600/mt ($88/mt). As a result, the price of 6.5 mm diameter Q235 high speed wire rod is at RMB 5,100/mt ($747/mt).
2. Rebar prices have declined by RMB 150/mt ($22/mt). After the change, the price of 16-25 mm diameter HRB 335 rebar is now at RMB 5,250/mt ($769/mt), while that of 16-25 mm diameter HRB 400 rebar is at RMB 5,450/mt ($798/mt).
3. HR coil prices are down by RMB 750/mt ($110/mt). Thus, the price of 5.75 mm x 1,500 mm Q235B is at RMB 5,350/mt ($783/mt).
4. CR coil prices have decreased by RMB 900/mt ($132/mt). Following the adjustment, the price of 1.0 mm SPCC is now at RMB 6,200/mt ($908/mt).
5. Full Hard prices have gone down by RMB 800/mt ($117/mt). Thereby, the price of 1.0 mm SPCC is now at RMB 6,000/mt ($878/mt).
All the above prices include 17 percent VAT and are effective from September 1, 2008.
