Tanggang inks cooperation deal with Siemens VAI Metals Technologies

Hebei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Tangshan Iron and Steel Co. (Tanggang), a subsidiary of Hebei Iron and Steel Group (HBIS), has an agreement on cooperation in technology and innovation with Siemens VAI Metals Technologies Co., Ltd., Shanghai (SMTS), an operating company of Metals Technologies Business Unit, Siemens Industry Sector, as reported by local Chinese media sources.

Accordingly, Siemens VAI Metals Technologies will evaluate Tanggang's sintering and blast furnace equipment in terms of energy efficiency and operating conditions, identifying energy saving potential and providing improvement solutions. Thus, in the coming two to three months, Siemens VAI Metals Technologies will hand in several optimization proposals to Tanggang.
