Shanxi Province-based Chinese steelmaker Taiyuan Iron and Steel Co. (Taiyuan Steel or TISCO) has announced that it has successfully developed production of ultra-high-strength hot rolled coil (HRC) with tensile strength of 900 MPa, following its previous development of high-strength 700 MPa HRC.

The new ultra-high-strength HRC product has been sent to key Chinese domestic enterprises for trial application. Once all requirements are met, the new product will likely replace imported products.
