Taiwan initiates AD case against Japanese H beam

Taiwanese structural steel producer Tung Ho Steel Enterprise Corp. alleged that hot rolled H beam from Japan is escalating dumping in Taiwan. At the consequence of these complaints Taiwan has initiated anti-dumping investigations against the imports of this product from Japan. Anti-dumping tariffs ranging between 10.24% and 24.42% are currently applied for hotrolled H beam imports from Japan, which were implemented following a previous anti-dumping investigation. However, Taiwanese officials state that existing margins are not high enough to protect the Taiwanese market from Japanese imports. The investigation is expected to complete in nine months or one year.
