Swedish crude steel output down 12.7 percent in Nov from Oct

According to the latest data released by the Swedish Steel Producers' Association (Jernkontoret), in November this year Swedish crude steel production amounted to 345,200 metric tons, decreasing by 18.8 percent year on year and down 12.7 percent as compared to October this year.

Meanwhile, in the first 11 months of the current year Swedish crude steel production totaled 4,492,900 mt, with an increase of 0.9 percent compared to the same period last year.

Jernkontoret indicates that Swedish steel companies have focused production on more advanced steel qualities. in Sweden, at present around 60 percent of the total production comprises alloyed steel which also includes stainless steels. In the rest of the EU, as well as in the USA and Japan, alloy steels only comprise 10-15 percent of steel production.
