According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in April this year Turkey's stainless flat steel imports rose by 30.4 percent compared to the previous month and were up 40.9 percent compared to April 2012, amounting to 44,011 metric tons. The value of these imports was $107 million, increasing by 29.4 percent as compared to March and up 34.3 percent year on year.
In the first four months of the year, Turkey's stainless flat steel imports amounted to 135,227 metric tons, increasing 10 percent compared to the same period of 2012. The value of these imports was $335 million, increasing by 3.3 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
