Steel industry in Hebei sees reduced gross profit in 2019

In 2019, the ferrous metal smelting and rolling sector in China’s Hebei Province recorded an operating revenue of RMB 1.26477 trillion ($0.18 trillion), up 3.7 percent year on year, while registering a gross profit of RMB 64.41 billion ($9.2 billion), down 28.9 percent year on year, with the gross profit accounting for 32.0 percent of overall industrial gross profits in the province in the given period, as announced by the Statistics Bureau of Hebei Province.

In 2019, the mining industry and manufacturing industry in Hebei Province recorded gross profits of RMB 8.61 billion ($1.2 billion) and RMB 176.43 billion ($25.1 billion), shifting from a gross loss of RMB 180 million and down 13.4 percent year on year, respectively.
