SSA Marine to build new port in Gulf of Mexico

Port operations company SSA Marine announced Thursday that it has won a $300 million contract to build a new port in Tuxpan, in the Gulf of Mexico. SSA Marine will begin construction on the new port later this year, with operations expected to begin by 2013.

The new port will focus on exports of containers, steel and automobiles to Europe, the US and South America.
