Just before the Spanish workers' general strike which will be held on September 29 against the austerity measures including an average five percent pay cut for public workers during 2010, the Spanish steel producers' association UNESID has said that the reasons for the strike are beyond the negotiation power of employers and therefore lack justification.
Suggesting that the strike will bring serious economic damages against the industrial weave of the country, at a time when moderate recovery of industrial activity has begun, UNESID stated that the iron and steel industrialists are seeking to keep their facilities open on September 29, and called on the public authorities to guarantee the right to work and mobility.
