Spanish Gonvarri to establish a HR steel processing line

Gonvarri Group, a service center headquartered in Spain, is planning to install a processing line at its Portuguese unit. Austrian Voest Alpine Industrieanlagenbau's subsidiary in Spain VAI-Mecesa will supply pickled and unpickled hot rolled steel for the heavy gauge cut-to-length line where hot rolled strip in thickness of between 1.5-8 mm, a maximum width of 2000 mm and a coil weight of up to 35 tonnes will be produced. Production at the line is expected to start by December 2003.
