South Korea’s industrial production up 19.1 percent in February

In February, South Korea's industrial production index increased by 3.6 percent compared to the previous month and was up by 19.1 percent year on year, following a 36.9 percent year-on-year gain in January, according to the statistics released by Statistics Korea.
 
Meanwhile, in the given month the average capacity utilization rate in South Korean manufacturing stood at 80.5 percent, rising by 1.6 percentage points from the previous month.
 
In February, the equipment investment index increased by 7.8 percent month on month and was up 18 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while the value of domestic machinery orders received fell 3.1 percent year on year.
 
In the month in question, the value of construction completed at constant prices fell 3.9 percent from the previous month and was down 2.4 percent year on year and the value of construction orders received at current prices fell 6.7 percent from the same period of the previous year.
