South African Iscor in negotiations with workers union

South African steel producer Iscor stated that it has reached an agreement with the National Union of Metal Workers of South Africa (Numsa) for a new date for negotiations regarding the settlement of outstanding problems with the union, avoiding a possible strike by the workers. The Bargaining Council meeting is scheduled for May 13, 2003 for the negotiations with the workers union.
