South Africa increases its iron ore exports in Q1 2019

According to provisional customs data for the country, South Africa has increased its iron ore exports in Q1 2019 compared to the same period a year ago. South Africa exported 7.05 million mt in January, 5.53 million mt in February and 5.21 million mt in March of 2019. The total of 17.79 million mt is up 14 percent from 15.56 million mt in Q1 2018. In 2018, South Africa exported 5.23 million mt in January, 5.25 million mt in February, and 5.08 million mt in March.

South Africa exported approximately 63.8 million mt of iron ore in 2018.
