South Africa increases its iron ore exports in April year-on-year

SteelOrbis reported South Africa iron ore exports in Q1 at 17.79 million mt, up 14 percent from 15.56 million mt in Q1 2018. In April, South Africa exported 6.09 million mt, 6 percent higher than the 5.75 million mt exported in April of the previous year. Iron ore export levels in Q2 2019 are slated to surpass 17 million mt, which is higher than the 16.79 million mt the country exported in Q2 2018.
