SMS Demag receives an order from Metallurgical Holding

According to the statement released by German company SMS Demag AG, the company has received an order from Russian company Metallurgical Holding to install a steel mini-mill with a downstream continuous billet caster. The contract includes 120/t-electric arc furnace, a ladle furnace and dust-collecting facility New facility, which will have an annual production capacity of 1 million tons, will produce wide range of light and medium sectional steel products. The new mill is scheduled to be operational in the second half of 2006. As previously reported by SteelOrbis, SMS Demag has received two orders from Russia in the last six months. The first one was from TMK Group in October for a continuous caster.
