Switzerland-based plantmaker SMS Concast will supply a new two-strand continuous billet caster for Slovenia-based steel producer Štore Steel, according to German-based SMS Meer.
The new continuous caster will produce special bar quality billets measuring 180 mm x 180 mm. With the new billet caster, Štore Steel will increase its production capacity from 150,000 mt per year to 300,000 mt per year. The new caster is scheduled to be commissioned in the fourth quarter of 2014.
Štore Steel is one of the leading producers of flat spring steel in Europe. The company produces steel in particular for the automotive industry.
