Sinopec to use friction welding drill pipes in Zhongyuan oil field

Chinese state-run China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation Ltd (Sinopec) has stated that it intends to use friction welding drill pipes in its Zhongyuan oil field.
 
The company stated that, if friction welding technology is used to repair drills, RMB 20 million ($3.1 million) can be saved each year.
