Germany-based plantmaker Siemens VAI has announced that it has received an order for a 160-ton ladle furnace from Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu Province-based Chinese stainless steel producer Zhangjiagang Pohang Stainless Steel Co. (ZPSS), a joint venture of Chinese steel producer Shagang Group and South Korean steel giant POSCO.
The commissioning of the new ladle furnace to be completed by the end of 2012 will increase ZPSS's production capacity, further improve product quality, and allow more grades of steel to be produced.
The Chinese stainless steel company has an annual production capacity of around 600,000 mt for both hot and cold rolled flat products.
