Siemens VAI receives order from Cosipa

Siemens Industrial Solutions and Services Group (I&S) announced yesterday that it received an order from Brazilian steel producer Companhia Siderúrgica Paulista (Cosipa) to replace the company's current slab caster No. 3 with a new one. The project, which will cost €89 million, will be carried by Brazilian Voest Alpine Indústria Ltda (VAI-MS), a division of I&S. The new slab caster is scheduled to become operational by December 2007. The new slab caster will have annual casting capacity of 1.2 million tons of high-quality slabs.
