Austria-based plantmaker Siemens VAI has announced that it has received an order from Indian state-owned miner National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) for the supply of a turn-key sinter plant.
The sinter plant, which will be a part of a new steelworks that NMDC plans to build in Nagarnar in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh, will be supplied by a consortium comprised of Austria-based Siemens VAI Metals Technologies GmbH and Indian companies Siemens VAI Metals Technologies Private Limited and Nagarjuna Construction Company Ltd.
The sinter plant will have a production capacity of 4.75 million metric tons of high quality sinter per year. The order volume for the consortium is approximately €120 million. The plant is scheduled to be launched in late 2013.
Siemens VAI will provide advisory services for erection, installation, start-up and commissioning, as well as personnel training.
