Hebei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Shijiazhuanga Iron & Steel achieved a finished steel export volume of 140,000 mt in the first seven months of the current year, up 15 percent year on year.

Shijiazhuanga Iron & Steel has stated that in 2010 it has on the one hand strongly lowered its inventory of raw materials while trying to achieve the most favorable purchase prices for these materials; on the other hand, it has placed emphasis on improving product quality and on adjusting product structure to focus on high-end products and has strengthened sales especially to the overseas markets, thereby achieving the above positive result.
