Shijiazhuang installs SBQ plant

Chinese steelmaker Shijiazhuang plans to install SBQ (special bar quality) plant for automotive sector in Hebei province, China. The plant will have an annual capacity of 500'000 tons. The plant will produce SBQ round bars between 50-150 mm diameter in the first phase, then aims to produce in smaller sizes. The new plant is expected to start production in 2005. Italian steel equipment maker Danieli Morgardshammar is missioned for this project.
