Shanghai Shida Precision Stainless Steel starts production at Phase II project

Chinese stainless steel producer Shanghai Shida Precision Stainless Steel lately held a ceremony to mark the start of production operations at its Phase II project.

With a total investment of $120 million, the steelmaker's Phase II project is built on a surface area of 83,000 m2 and includes a 1,250 mm 20-high rolling mill, degreasing equipment, vertical continuous bright annealing equipment, as well as machines for stretching, straightening and cutting.

As a result of the commencement of production at its Phase II project, Shanghai Shida Precision Stainless Steel now has an annual capacity of 56,000 mt of stainless steel strip with a minimum thickness of 0.03 mm and a maximum width of 1,210 mm.
