A new shear with an annual scrap processing capacity of 180,000 metric tons was supplied by French company AKROS and will allow Severstal not only increase its scrap processing capacity but also improve the quality of processed scrap. The latter will positively impact the work of Severstal Cherepovets crude steel production by oxygen converter and EAF methods.

The new equipment cost Severstal about €2 million.
