Severstal eyes Asia, Europe and America for expansion

The Russian steel producer Severstal is interested in acquiring production facilities in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia, the company's CEO Alexei Mordashov said on Monday, January 22. Mr. Mordashov explained that in 2007 Severstal plans to expand both by increasing the efficiency of its existing assets and by acquiring new ones. Severstal is particularly interested in the markets which show high market growth, Mr. Mordashov added.
