Samuel, Son & Co. to buy stainless steel business

Ontario, Canada-based steel distributor, Samuel, Son & Co., has announced it will buy The Engineered Metals Group (EMG), which is the stainless steel distribution business of Portland, Oregon-based ESCO Corp. The purchase will bring the number of Samuel locations in the US to 58, providing the company with further expansion into the Western US stainless steel market. EMG, an independent distributor of commodities, processed and engineered stainless steel products in the Western US, will be renamed Samuel, Son & Co. Engineered Metals Group. Samuel is to offer jobs to all of EMG's 107 employees in Portland, Oregon; Denver, Colorado; Los Angeles, California, and Hayward, California.
